The Special Education Department provides staff development for administrators, teachers and parents who work with students who have autism.  Best practice strategies are included in the training.  Best practice strategies include structured teaching, visual supports, communication training, self-help skills training, behavior intervention procedures and social skills training.
 
Technical assistance is provided by means of student observations and data review.
