     Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL)
     
    Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) is organized to assist administrators with the implementation of T-TESS. Participants of AEL will recognize the relationship between the seven strands of school leadership and five conceptual themes.   AEL has now taken the place of ILD. If you have been certified with ILD, you do not need to be certified with AEL. 
     
    Region One ESC offers the three day face-to-face training.   Click here to register for an AEL workshop.
     
    Please note the following when registering for an AEL training.   
    • All training sessions will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.  Sessions will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
    • You must attend all three sessions in order to receive credit for the training.  For example, you cannot miss Day One and attend Day Two and Day Three.  
    • If you miss a portion of the a session for any reason, you may be asked attend a make up session after the training or attend another full day session.  Due to the nature of the training and certification process that will follow, it is imperative that all participants be present during the sessions.
    •  AEL is a face-to-face training.   All participants will be charged $400.00 for the training.   Submit a district purchase order via fax at (956) 984-7636.  If you are paying for the training personally, payments must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the training date.   Please submit a cashier's check or money order from H-E-B or Wal-Mart. Payments are to be made payable to Region One ESC.

    Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
     
    The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is the Texas recommended appraisal process created to evaluate teachers and establish a system of support. T-TESS is directly correlated to the Texas Teacher Standards.  T-TESS is designed as a model for providing teachers with ongoing, timely feedback and establishing a culture of continuous improvement.   The T-TESS rubric consists four domains with specific dimensions, descriptors and performance levels.        T-TESS facilitates the process of every teacher being supported and encouraged to grow professionally.

    Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS)  
     
    The Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) is the principal evaluation system recommended by the Commissioner starting in the 2016-2017 school year.  T-PESS is aligned to the Texas Principal Standards and its purpose is to assess a principal's performance based on those standards.  T-PESS is to be used as a systematic annual cycle.  It is a seven step process- Orientation, Self-assessment and Goal setting, Pre-evaluation conference, Mid-year Meeting, Consolidated Performance Assessment, End-of-year Performance Discussion, and Final Evaluation and Goal Setting.
