Project P.a.C.E.
What is Project P.a.C.E? 

 Project P.a.C.E. is a rigorous, fast-paced educator preparation program designed to prepare and certify highly qualified individuals to teach in Texas public schools. Candidates accepted into the program will:

  • Complete an intensive pre-assignment training program the summer prior to a school-based internship year.

  • Complete a one year school-based paid internship or 12-14 week non-paid clinical teaching. In the one year school based internship, interns will work as teachers of record with the support of a trained mentor and the supervision of an ESC facilitator.
In order to complete one year internship as teacher of record, candidates must ensure all official transcripts with a date degree conferred notation are submitted, complete fingerprints and background check, submit results of TB test, submit proof of field experience hours (if not a late hire), must have completed pre-assignment training hours, must have passed content exam (PACT) in the area related to the teaching assignment, and must have secured employment by a qualifying district. 
  • Attend ongoing focused training sessions and preparation for the TExES  throughout the internship year.
Interns successfully completing their training requirements, internship, and teacher examinations will be recommended for a Standard Texas Teaching Certificate.
