School Readiness Integration

The Role and responsibility of the Office of School Readiness Integration is to:

Coordinate the implementation of the Texas Kindergarten Readiness System (KRS) which evaluates the effectiveness of prekindergarten, Head Start, and community-based child care programs in preparing children for kindergarten.
Support the goals and objectives of the Texas State Literacy Plan (TSLP) as it applies to early childhood education, transition from early childhood into kindergarten and community collaborations.
Provide professional development, training, and technical assistance to Early Childhood Education providers within the Education Service Center.
Strive to maintain a cost-effective School Readiness Integration (SRI) model that brings together school districts, child care providers, and Head Start programs to prepare prekindergarten children for transition into school.
