Region One Education Service Center is offering free career training courses for adults in Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties. Starting Jan. 9, adult learners with a high school diploma or GED and valid work authorization can attend no-cost, specialized classes to advance their careers.

Students from the Donna ISD 18+ special education program spread holiday cheer by sharing their hand-made creations and one-of-a-kind tree at the Region One Education Service Center (Region One) in Edinburg.
Region One Education Service Center (Region One) was awarded $450,000 for a span of three years to re-engage students ages 18-26 and assist them with earning a high school diploma and post-secondary credential, paving the way to successful careers. The award was provided by the Trellis Foundation, an organization that focuses on improving post-secondary success for low-income students.
Brownsville ISD Junior Sebastian C. Salazar was selected by the Texas State School Safety Center as one of eight top youth leaders to serve as a Teen Ambassador Youth Advisory Board Member, participating in a first-of-its-kind program to help create safer schools. Salazar is the only student ambassador from south of Austin serving in this capacity.
