    Teacher of the Year -  Texas Teacher of the Year is the highest honor that the State of Texas can bestow upon a teacher.  Facilitated by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), the Texas Teacher of the Year Program annually recognizes and rewards teachers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in teaching.  Please click on the link below for more information from TASA about this prestigious award. The Region One ESC HR department is also available to provide information at (956) 984-6106. 

     

    TOY Application for District Winners ONLY:

    Each Texas public school district and open-enrollment charter operator may nominate only two teachers — one elementary and one secondary educator — for this award program. Only those educators selected as either District Elementary Teacher of the Year or District Secondary Teacher of the Year are eligible to apply using this form.
     
    District Teacher of the Year (1 Elementary and 1 Secondary winner) must fill out and submit the 2022 Teacher of the Year Application by Thursday, June 3, 2021. Applications must be submitted by close of business for the teacher’s Region ESC; Note that personal contact information (not school district) contact information including email and phone number needs to be included on the application. 
    An individual professional picture of the district teachers of the year should also be uploaded to the online form.

    2022 Region One ESC district winners:

    District winner(s) are to commit to represent the profession of teaching during their year of reign in:

      1. At least one event at their campus
      2. At least one event at their district
      3. At least one Region wide event (ie., Regional Best practice conference, PEC, CAP, etc.) – regional winners only

    Teachers will be required to submit the event names/dates that they participate in to the Region One ESC Human Resources office, attn ESC Teacher of the Year Coordinator, Brenda J Balderaz, Director of Human Resources, 956-984-6106.
