Upon examining the literacy rates of our Region One ESC counties, the 2014 Literacy Action Team determined it is imperative that efforts be made to increase reading opportunities and access to books for our Region One students and their families.  Therefore, as a united team of Region One ESC libraries we will reach out to local businesses where families with young children seek services.  We will promote the Texas Library Association reading lists customized for young readers.

Join the RGV READS Little Free Library movement.  Think of an area families with young children frequent.  Talk with the owners about installing a Little Free Library for their business to adopt and keep filled with books for families with young children.
