Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM)
The Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM) initiative creates secondary schools that focus on the subjects most needed for career opportunities in Texas. Designed to improve the quality of teaching as well as the academic performance of students, T-STEM serves to prepare Texas high school students — especially first-generation and historically underserved students — for success in college and the workforce. T-STEM engages students and exposes them to innovation and design in real-world contexts. The course of study meets admission requirements for competitive colleges, and aims to ensure that students will have the STEM qualifications needed to keep pace with the job market.
