    The Laredo Extension Office provides a wide array of quality research-based curriculum, instruction, assessment and technical support services to public and non-public districts and charter schools including:

    Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL 3 Day Training)

    This session is organized to assist administrators with the implementation of T-TESS. Participants of AEL will recognize the relationship between the seven (7) strands of school leadership and five (5) conceptual themes. NOTE: ILD or AEL is a “co-requisite” for teacher appraisal.


    T-PESS Appraiser Certification Training (2 Day Training)

    The T-PESS Appraiser Certification Training is a two-day face-to-face training from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM for current principal appraisers and principals for districts implementing T-PESS. NOTE: Attendance is required both days to obtain State T-PESS certification.

    T-TESS Appraiser Certification Training (3 Day Training)

    The T-TESS Appraiser Certification Training is a three-day face-to-face training from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for current and aspiring administrators.  Attendance is required for all three days to obtain access to the online certification test and certificate access.


    T-TESS New Teacher Orientation Training

    Teachers will become familiar with the T-TESS process; begin to move from procedural to conceptual in understanding how the domains, dimensions, descriptors, and performance levels of the T-TESS rubric apply to their roles and responsibilities; and understand that the T-TESS process is based on best practices and an ongoing system of feedback and support. NOTE: ***Meets the requirements of an official T-TESS Teacher Orientation training.


     Overcoming Five Dysfunctions of a Team

    This synergetic training helps leaders of organizations, programs, campuses, and departments advance and remain in the right direction and common goal. Leaders will learn how to systematically address each dysfunction to influence and implement the changes needed to become a more synergetic team.


    Field Supervisor Observation Training for Teacher Certification Candidates

    Field Supervisor Observation Training is developed for providing guidelines and instruction in delivering structures and practices for field supervisor observation visits to teacher candidates participating in clinical teaching or internship experiences through educator preparation programs(EPPs).

    This training was developed to meet the requirements of recently adopted Texas Administrative Code(TAC) §228.35(g). This section of TAC requires that “supervision of each candidate shall be conducted with the structured guidance and regular on-going support of an experienced educator who has been trained as a field supervisor. Supervision provided on or after September 1,2017, must be provided by a field supervisor who has completed TEA-approved observation training.”


     Leadership Development Student Learning Objectives (SLO)

    Student Learning Objectives (SLO) training is one method by which districts and campuses can measure student growth connected to the state teacher evaluation system known as T-TESS.  Intended audience is district administrators, principals, assistant principals, and/or teacher leaders who will lead the effort of creating and monitoring the Student Learning Objective process. This one-day training includes an introduction to the SLO process, required forms, timelines, and access to the TEA support website.
