Title III, Part A Shared Service Agreement
English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement ActPurpose
Title III, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as reauthorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), aims to ensure that English learners (ELs) and immigrant students attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English. Title III will also assist all English learners meet the same challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet.
Region One ESC offers a cooperative for districts wishing to leverage their Title III, Part A funding to gain high quality services. District members of the Region One ESC Title III, Part A Shared Service Arrangement receive direct services and support aligned to the purposes and intent of Title III, Part A funding.
Services include:
- Professional development and support for the preparation of educators whose students would benefit by obtaining certification in Bilingual and/or ESL instruction.
- Information sharing regarding state and federal policy guidelines
- Timely and relevant information sharing from the Texas Education Agency for district program directors
- Design and delivery of innovative solutions, training, and technical assistance to meet members’ needs
