• TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COUNCIL

     
    The Region One Technology Advisory Council has been organized as a forum for sharing information and providing guidance in the field of technology. The Council is comprised of the heads of Technology of all Region One districts. The council meets quarterly to discuss pertinent agenda items related to the improvement of technology operations. Speakers are brought in for the professional development of the Technology Advisory Council members. Networking and sharing of best practices by the district representatives are also accommodated through the monthly meetings.

    ACTIVITY: Identifying Regional Challenges and Needs
    Participants will be broken up into working teams of 4-6 individuals and each group will have 30 minutes to identify:

    • Top 3 challenges faced by their district(s)
    • Current or upcoming initiatives
    • Expectations/needs for the TAC meeting format and content

    Each working team will then have 10 minutes to report out and share with group.

    Review LEA challenges/needs and select priorities, intiatives, and projects to be undertaken as a region

    DISCUSSION: Establishing a Regional TAC Steering Committee
    Seeking nominations and/or volunteers to join a Technology Advisory Committee Steering Committee for 2021-2022. The steering committee will represent regional LEAs in the selection, planning, and implementation of regional technology initiatives, TAC meeting content and format, and other TAC-related activities.

    Region One ESC Distance Learning Consortium Changes for 2021-2022
    The DLC has been completely revamped for the 2021-2022 school year! Due to the shift towards video conferencing via Zoom by TEA and the criticality of information made available via TETN, access to content that previously required membership is now provided to all districts free of charge. The DLC has been reimagined as a portal for e-learning content for district staff, students, and parents with professional development content, webinars, virtual field trips, and more.
