    Region One's Educator Preparation Program (EPP), Project P.a.C.E., uses a blended training model for our teacher candidates. Our blended model includes a combination of face-to-face and online learning opportunities with experienced instructors. Networking with colleagues and getting one-on-one time with your instructors are both benefits of our educators' professional learning opportunities.     Project P.a.C.E. Teacher Alternative Certification Program

     Coursework and Clock Hours

    •  30 hours of field-based experience
      • 15 hours may be provided by use of electronic transmission or other video or technology-based method
      • 15 hours are required and must occur in an actual school setting
      • 15 hours may be satisfied by serving as a long-term substitute
      • 30 hours must be completed prior to clinical teaching or internship

    • 300 hours minimum of successfully completed coursework and training (including online modules)
      • 150 hours must be completed prior to clinical teaching or internship

    • 200+ hours of successfully completed coursework for CTE candidates (including online modules)
      • 150 hours must be completed prior to clinical teaching or internship

    • EPP approved additional content specific professional development hours conducted by Region One ESC and/or Region One ESC Beginning Teacher Support may be accepted and approved for coursework hours.
    • EPP approved district CPE hours may be accepted and approved for coursework hours for “late hires” only with appropriate district CPE documentation.

    • EPP approved military service, ongoing service, training, or educational coursework within the past five (5) years as it directly relates to the certificate being sought may be accepted and approved for coursework hours.
    • EPP approved non-military members may substitute prior or ongoing service, training or education within the past five (5) years that is not counted as part of internship or clinical teaching may be accepted and approved for coursework hours.
