COVID-19 Supports

  • Region One Education Service Center is continuing to provide quality supports for school systems, leaders, parents, teachers and students during this world-wide health emergency.   In the Division of Instructional Leadership, School Improvement and College Readiness our programs have dedicated time and resources to support your school systems.  Currently, our program coordinators and directors will conduct weekly meetings with school system program staff to assure that you stay abreast of federal, state and local requirements and we are working diligently to create online content to support your parents, teachers, and students.  On each of the program webpages, you will find specific content to support the area of focus.

    Key Areas of Support

    • Weekly Program Meetings with District Program Coordinators and Directors
    • On-line Parent Resource Page
    • On-line Teacher Resources for Classroom Instruction.
    • TEA Communication Regarding State Initiatives & Implementation Timeline

During this time of extraordinary circumstances, please know that Region One Education Service Center is here for you. A COVID-19 Supports page has been developed so you can readily access information vital to your Gifted and Talented program.

I know our students, parents, teachers and administrators are all working hard to move forward as we all face this new normal. I have been in contact with Ms. Monica Brewer from the Texas Education Agency, and they are compiling some resources to help us.  As I receive information from TEA I will pass that along to you and more will be posted in this space. Be sure to bookmark this site and share it with others!

Please keep up your spirits, take care of yourselves and your families, protect the elderly and the children. This is a tough time, but we are all Region One. Let the hero inside of you flourish. Remember the superhero you picked at our last meeting?  Be that and more! We can do this because we are educators! We were born to make a difference in the lives of students! Together we will get through this!
