It is essential for LEA’s and early learning centers to maximize use of assessment data to engage the entire community so that students are “School Ready”. Through the effective use of progress monitoring tools, teachers will understand student skills as they enter the classroom, families can become more engaged and reinforce skills at home, teachers/administrators can target professional development that will support increased student achievement.
Use of Assessment Data
- Maximize the use of assessment data to assist teachers in guiding their instruction and engaging parents in reinforcing skills at home. Assessment data can be used to target professional development that will support increased student achievement.
ECDS Technical Assistance
- Collaborate with Local Education Agencies and early learning centers on the Early Childhood Data System (ECDS) for public prekindergarten and kindergarten data.
- Attend professional development and ECDS technical assistance sessions to purposefully administer, collect, and submit early childhood data to the Texas Education Agency
