Site and Field Supervisor Required for Practicum or Internship Assignment

Practicum Assignment -
Is a supervised educator assignment at a public school accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or other school approved by the TEA that may lead to completion of a standard principal as instructional leader certificate. Clock hours of practicum are hours spent in the required educational activities and experiences.
Site Supervisor Assigned -
For a practicum candidate, a trained campus principal who is a certified educator and assigned by our EPP and campus or district administrator will provide guidance, assistance, and support to the candidate during practicum; and who reports the candidate's progress to the candidate's field supervisor.
Field Supervisor Assigned -
For a practicum candidate, a trained field supervisor hired by the EPP who is a certified educator will observe practicum candidates, monitor their performance, and provide constructive feedback to help candidates improve their effectiveness as entry-level principals.
Practicum Program Requirements:
Prior to the start of practicum, a practicum candidate must complete the following:
- 56 clock-hours of appraiser certification coursework and training; and
- attend mandatory practicum candidate and site supervisor Region One ESC training.
During practicum, a practicum candidate must complete the following:
- complete a minimum of 200 clock-hours demonstrating proficiency in each of the principal standards.

Internship Assignment -
Is a paid supervised educator assignment at a public school accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or other school approved by the TEA that may lead to completion of a standard principal as instructional leader certificate. Clock hours of internship are hours spent in the required educational activities and experiences.
Site Supervisor Assigned -
For an internship candidate, a trained campus principal who is a certified educator and assigned by our EPP and campus or district administrator will provide guidance, assistance, and support to the candidate during internship; and who reports the candidate's progress to the candidate's field supervisor.
Field Supervisor Assigned -
For an internship candidate, a trained field supervisor hired by the EPP who is a certified educator will observe candidates, monitor their performance, and provide constructive feedback to help internship candidates improve their effectiveness as entry-level principals.
Internship Program Requirements:
Prior to the start of internship, a candidate must complete the following:
- 56 clock-hours of appraiser certification coursework and training; and
- attend mandatory internship candidate and site supervisor Region One ESC training, and
- pass TExES Principal as Instructional Leader (268) exam, and
- at the recommendation of our EPP, apply for issuance of an intern or probationary certificate.
During internship, a candidate must complete the following:
- a minimum of 200 clock-hours demonstrating proficiency in each of the principal standards.
