Service Offerings

  • The Region One ESC Language Arts Department offers a range of trainings that facilitate implementation of state initiatives, build pedagogical skills, and grow educators along the professional learning continuum. Whether you are new to teaching English Language Arts and Reading, or a district assistant superintendent responsible for ELAR programs, we offer workshops that help your students succeed!

Occasionally, the Language Arts Department delivers workshops through funding supplied by the Texas Education Agency and helps local districts learn more about resources provided by the state. The intent is to provide advanced, equitable academic work, work place training, and support services to students and educators. Examples include: Project Share, Mathematics & Reading Academies, TX Lesson Study, and the Texas Literacy Initiative

Some sessions are pre-scheduled and participants may register for them using the Workshops link at the top right corner of this website. We deliver these sessions at one of our three locations: Edinburg, Laredo Extension Office, or Brownsville Extension Office, or a place of your choosing.

Often, sessions are customized to meet unique needs of Region One ESC area districts and students. For example, we offer instructional coaching which can include the K-2 level Phonics Toolkit or the Excerpts for Learning series of booklets (ES, MS, & HS). You may select from the listing of services found below and at the PK-3 Sessions link. If customized training interests you, contact us to collaboratively design experiences that exactly meet your needs.
