    Services to Member School Districts, Charter Schools and Private Schools
     
    The following services are available for cooperative member school districts, charter schools and private schools. (Private schools do not receive TEXQUEST resources:  EBSCO eBooks, EBSCO Learning Express, Gale Cengage Learning, & ProQuest Sirs Discoverer)

     
     
    MackinVIA Sign-on Platform - (http://www.mackinvia.com) - the MackinVIA platform is available to any and all K-12 schools. It provides a way for schools to easily link their learning technology applications to students in a secure environment by only requiring one login and password to access all of their applications in one place.
     
     
    Brain Hive - (http://www.brainhive.com) - Three 500 title collections curated for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Collections include interactive eBooks, eBooks with audio, and traditional eBooks across all subject areas. All titles, both fiction and nonfiction, are aligned to TEKS.
     
     
     
     
     
    BrainPOP Combo (http://www.brainpop.com) - Animated, cross-curricular content that engages students through animated movies, entertaining characters, interactive quizzes, educational games, high-interest readings, activities and more. BrainPOP Combo resources include BrainPOP (Grades 3 and up), BrainPOP Jr. (Grades K-3) and which span Science, Math, Social Studies, English Language Arts, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Music, Health, Reading and Writing, BrainPOP Español  (Grades 3 and up) which offers subjects in Spanish, BrainPOP ELL which features games, lesson plans, activities and animated movies and focuses on reading, writing, vocabulary building, grammar and pronunciation and BrainPOP Francais (Grades 3 and up) which offers subjects in French. BrainPOP Creative Coding (all grades) in partnership with Scratch and Vidcode, accompanies our BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. topics and is accessible to district and school subscribers on individual teacher and student accounts.

      EBSCO History Reference Center (http://search.ebscohost.com)  – designed for secondary schools, this database includes extensive full-text content from history journals, reference books, non-fiction books, periodicals and other sources, primary source documents, biographies of historical figures, images including maps and historical photos and historical video.

     
    Gale Testing and Education Reference Center with Career Module (http://www.nelnetsolutions.com/terc) - includes over 300 online practice tests and courses (CLEP, AP, TAKS, GED, ASVAB, HiSET, etc.), online books, family college planning center, and career exploration and tools. 
     
     
    Learn360 PLUS (https://learn360.infobase.com) - for High school and AP level content to enrich your base Learn360 subscription. Multimedia resources—including  full-length videos, video clips, images, audio titles, articles, activities, worksheets, and interactives.
     
     
    Mackin eBooks (https://www.mackinvia.com) - Collection of several thousand regionally shared eBooks and audiobooks.  These eBooks and audiobooks cover interest levels of grades PK - 12th grade and include a few professional titles as well.  The eBooks and audiobooks can be downloaded to read offline.

    TEXQUEST:  Britannica School Edition (http://school.eb.com) - Britannica School Edition includes encyclopedia articles, images, and videos on elementary, middle school, and high school levels for all content areas, as well as Britannica Escolar and Moderna in Spanish.  The collection includes Britannica School Edition for Elementary, Middle & High School, Escolar & Enciclopedia Moderna. 
     

    TEXQUEST: EBSCO eBooks (https://search.ebscohost.com/) - Six nonfiction and reference eBook collections with almost 200,000 titles of downloadable eBooks that can also be read online.  eBooks includes: K-8 Collection, High School Collection, Academic Collection, Business Collection, Education Collection, and History Collection.

      TEXQUEST: EBSCO Learning Express (https://search.ebscohost.com/) - EBSCO offers comprehensive academic and career-related resources for college, career, and military preparedness.
     

    TEXQUEST: Gale Cengage Learning (https://www.galepages.com/texquest/resources) - Articles from magazines, newspapers, academic journals, and reference books, as well as videos, images, and audio files in resources targeting elementary, middle, and high school. Full-text nonfiction eBooks and magazines for K-8; reference eBooks for secondary.       TEXQUEST: ProQuest SIRS Discoverer (http://ars.sirs.com/discoverer ) - informs K-8 students with vetted, age-appropriate articles, books, maps, multimedia, images and issues that align to core subjects.  
     

    TEXQUEST: TeachingBooks (www.teachingbooks.net) - connects cross curricular literacy materials to the titles used in K-12 classrooms and libraries.  

     

    MEGAbyte Services (https://www.esc1.net/Page/2451) - Region One librarians can attend workshops, webinars, online trainings, and certification opportunities at no charge or at a discounted fee.

      Staff Development Workshops (www.esc1.net/staffdevelopment) - Scheduled workshops are free or offered at a reduced cost for Co-op members. Any member school district, charter school or private school may request on-site staff development at no charge. The number of days per district is based on student enrollment (one half day to four days).

      Library Leadership Network meetings – The Region One Library Services Coordinator meets regularly with the district library coordinator/contact to keep them informed on TEA library initiatives and library program best practices.

      Support for School Librarians – Our Region One certified librarian provides free on-site and telephone support for librarians in the cooperative member districts, charter schools and private schools.

      Host Annual Fall and Spring Events - Region One ESC coordinates and hosts the Fall Media Fair and Spring Extravaganza for librarians.

      Library and Technology Purchasing Cooperative – The Region One Library and Technology Purchasing Cooperative includes consultants, instructional software/applications, library books, library furniture, library supplies, magazine subscriptions, audiovisual equipment, technology hardware, technology equipment, and other instructional resources/services.

      Instructional Materials Allotment (AKA textbook adoptions) - Instructional materials up for adoption, are made available for the public to view.

     

     
    Yearly Fees
    School Districts - $3.20 per student enrollment
    Charter Schools - $3.20 per student enrollment
