Dear Region One ESC Superintendents,
I am honored and pleased to welcome you to the upcoming 2023–2024 School Year. I am confident that this school year will bring many successes for all the 439,000 plus students we serve collectively. Thank you for your commitment in growing and shaping the lives of all our students.
Three main objectives of the Education Service Center as stipulated by the Texas Legislature are to assist school systems in improving student performance in our Region; enable school districts to operate more efficiently and economically; and implement initiatives assigned by the Legislature or Commissioner of Education. Region One ESC serves 38 school districts and six charter school systems with four of them having their headquarters in other Regions in the State. Our team primarily serves the eight counties of Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Starr, Webb, Willacy, and Zapata.
I take this opportunity to invite you to take advantage of all the services and solutions Region One ESC has to offer your school system. While several of our services are free of charge, others have a fee associated that merely covers the costs involved in providing the service.
We look forward to your partnership as we continue to serve you in the areas of curriculum and instruction, school finance, purchasing, school safety, technology support service and solutions, PEIMS, human resources, school board member support, food and nutrition, and special education among many others.
