Mission CISD Libraries under the guidance of Mrs. Marissa Saenz is working with the district's Licensed Professional Counselors to bring Comet's Storytime Adventures to the elementary school libraries. Comet is Mission CISD’s therapy dog. 

What began as a simple idea to motivate students to read has turned into a heartwarming program that’s touching lives across elementary and middle schools. Meet Comet, the two-year-old therapy dog who is inspiring reluctant readers and offering emotional support to students and staff alike.

In small and rural districts, libraries often face unique challenges, from limited funding to outdated perceptions of their purpose. However, Margo Martinez, a library aide at Falfurrias Junior High, has proven that with creativity and determination, these challenges can become opportunities for transformation.
