Gifted & Talented

We provide learning services for educators on effective ways to teach using research-based instructional strategies. Our workshops and online sessions focused on GT education and are mandatory for teachers, administrators and counselors who provide services or oversee GT programs.

Learning services include:

• Educator professional development on research-based effective instructional strategies;
• Required GT workshops and online sessions for educators, administrators, and counselors;
• GT student summits;
• GT parent workshops;
• Resources for school and district improvement;
• Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) implementation; and
• TPSP Assessment scoring using Rubrics for Primary, Elementary, Secondary and Exit Level.

For Teachers

For Administrators

Teachers as well as administrators who have supervisory duties for service decisions are required to complete a minimum of six (6) hours of professional development that includes nature and needs of gifted/talented students and service options for gifted/ talented students (19 TAC §89.2(4)).

For Counselors

Counselors who work with gifted/talented students are required to complete a minimum of six (6) hours of professional development that includes nature and needs of gifted/ talented students, service options for gifted/ talented students, and social emotional learning (19 TAC §89.2(4)).
