Educators will learn to incorporate the use of foundational language, civil discourse, governmental and democratic processes to support the understanding of civic knowledge and skills. In addition, social studies educators will learn instructional routines that support all students in formulating and communicating visually, orally and in writing on social studies topics. Participants will experience components of strong social studies instructional practices including building Knowledge Coherence, utilizing Evidence Based Responses, incorporating Multiple Perspectives, and Text Complexity to utilize within their classrooms.
