• External Partnerships
    The South Texas Literacy Coalition is located in Edinburg, Texas.  They are a community action group originally charged by Congressman Ruben Hinjosa to develop a regional organization focused on promoting and enhancing literacy services and encouraging life-long learning.  Visit STLC's website for a Request for Proposal  for the South Texas Literacy Coalition Book Distribution Initiative. 

    Read 3 HEB is a Texas based food chain with stores in more than 150 communities around Texas.  They are heavily invested in the area of literacy.  Visit HEB's website to Apply for Book Donations and to make find more information about their family literacy program.
    Children's Museum of Houston
    The Children's Museum of Houston developed a children's literacy program for families whose first language is Spanish. Visit the museum's website for downloadable curriculum you can use with your families.  (As of 11/18/2014 the website's curriculum was taken offline for updating.) 
    Internal Partnerships
    A Bright Beginning Region One ESC's Migrant Department  hosts a early childhood literacy training programs for migrant families.  Visit the Migrant Department's webpage to see the current year's schedule of workshops.  As well, a current list of Parental Advisory Council meetings are located there.

    Region One ESC has a variety of services to assist you in the area of early childhood and related topics.  
    Region One ESC's Early Literacy Specialist/Dyslexia is Roel Garza. 956-984-6182.  As well, Region One's  Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities provides workshops to support early literacy.
