Region One ESC School Improvement assists largest school district in Southern Arizona to promote school success

 

Tucson Unified School District Officials laud the national reputation of the Region One ESC Office of School Improvement, Accountability and Compliance

 

The Region One Education Service Center (ESC) Office of School Improvement, Accountability and Compliance is assisting Tucson Unified School District, the largest school district in Southern Arizona, by providing training on the Effective Schools Framework, a customized professional development plan that promotes overall school success.

 

According to the Region One ESC Office of School Improvement, Accountability and Compliance, Tucson Unified School District will leverage best practices found within the Effective Schools Framework by training all magnet schools and later building capacity throughout the district.

 

The Office of School Improvement, Accountability and Compliance Administrator Tammie Garcia, former Director Ruben Degollado, Coordinator of Effective Schools Rosey Guerra and Effective Schools Lead Francene Phoenix began facilitating training sessions in April 2023.

 

The Center for Effective Schools, a network of school improvement professionals that works in tandem with the Texas Education Agency, supported the effort.

 

Dr. Kinasha Brown, Assistant Superintendent of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Tucson Unified School District, said Region One ESC is nationally recognized for being at the forefront of research for continuous improvement in schools.
