The Region One Education Service Center (ESC) announced Alicia E. Requenez (Place 1-Hidalgo County) as the 2023-2024 Board of Directors Chairperson during a board meeting on Aug. 17, 2023. Chairperson Requenez previously served as Vice-Chairperson.

2022-2023 Chairperson Dr. Manuel Gomez, Jr. was presented with a plaque by Executive Director Dr. Daniel P. King and Chairperson Requenez to commemorate his year leading the Region One ESC Board. Gomez will continue serving as Board of Director Place 6, representing Cameron County.
