The Jim Hogg County ISD School Board and Superintendent of Schools Susana P. Garza were recognized in the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Texas Lone Star Magazine for driving strategic change in the district.

Superintendent Garza, a longtime Jim Hogg County ISD educator, and the board collaborated to improve state accountability and financial ratings. The district earned an “A” accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2021-2022 school year and a preliminary “A” rating from the TEA Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.
