Student by Student Conference - May 21

Don't Miss Out on This Exciting Learning Opportunity!

Through sharing and learning about technology with and from their peers, young minds are empowered to become more creative, improve their collaboration and communication skills, expand their critical thinking and problem-solving processes, and grow into mindful digital citizens.

The Region One Education Service Center is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Student by Student Technology & Leadership Conference (SbySTech21). This initiative is open to 8th through 12th grade students and will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM.

The SbySTech21 Conference is a unique experience where sessions focusing on the use of technology in education and STEM will be presented by students for their fellow students. This will empower student presenters to be leaders of their own future in the areas of technology, STEM and innovation, as well as provide a platform for students to showcase technology and STEM best practices.

Along with the breakout sessions presented by students, there will be additional activities for participants such as a virtual STEM Challenge, virtual Makerspace activities, and a College & Career Connections virtual expo.

The SbySTech was not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The prior year’s conference (SbySTech19) was attended by over 700 student participants, 177 student presenters and 98 educators from 17 districts throughout the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo and Corpus Christi. Visit www.esc1.net/sbys for more highlights including the event Twitter feed!

Because the conference is being held virtually this year, students and educators will have the opportunity to participate from home or school for FREE.

The registration deadline is May 7, 2021.
